Our team has worked at Doxford Barns, near Chathill in coastal north Northumberland, so it’s a venue we already know. With a whole collection of barns, bars and lawns to explore, it’s a venue made for a big celebration, and our staffed booth slots right into the evening.
About Doxford Barns
The venue is made up of converted farm buildings on a 550-acre private estate, including an 18th-century threshing hall and an oak-beamed Great Barn. A three-acre lake on the estate can be used for outdoor ceremonies.
Each building has its own role in the day:
- The Threshing Hall hosts ceremonies in an 18th-century setting.
- The Cart Shed suits more intimate ceremonies, or drinks and canapés with your guests.
- The Great Barn, with its oak beams and countryside views, is used for the wedding breakfast and the evening party.
- The Forge is a cosy seating area with a real open fire.
- The Turnbull Bar, with stone walls, serves local ales, wines and spirits, while the Baldy Reiver Bar, the largest, opens straight onto the dance floor.
As well as the lake, the Farmhouse Lawn can be used for outdoor ceremonies, speeches or drinks. The whole venue is yours exclusively, either for a single-day wedding or for up to three days, with a bridal suite and seven self-catering cottages a short walk away. Catering is in-house, using locally sourced, seasonal produce.

For timeless black and white portraits, our Glam Booth is the one couples love. This Kardashian-style photo booth pairs a white backdrop with flattering beauty lighting, so every guest gets a polished portrait. It starts from £650, or Vintage Booth and DJ & Photo Booth package clients can upgrade for £25.

With a bar opening straight onto the dance floor, Doxford Barns is built for a great party. Planning tips for a photo booth at Doxford Barns
- Pick the right building. With several barns and bars, ask the Doxford team where the booth will work best during the evening. Close to the Great Barn’s dance floor keeps it lively.
- Plan for a multi-day wedding. If you’ve booked two or three days, let us know which evening you’d like the booth.
- Use the lake and lawns in daylight. Doxford Lake and the Farmhouse Lawn are perfect for your photographer; the booth then takes over in the evening.
- Share your timings. Tell us when evening guests arrive and when the first dance is, and we’ll open the booth to suit.
- Match the print to your styling. Send us your colours or stationery and we’ll design a print to suit.

selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! We met Wayne & Sally at a wedding fayre. They were both really lovely and approachable, discussing all of their options & packages. Their communication was excellent & their app is easy to use for updates, info on your package and payments. Having used photobooths before, I can say the tech from Selfie Star was the best quality we’ve seen! We had the ICON! Wayne on the night of our wedding was brilliant, super friendly & arrived in plenty of time for the start of the evening celebrations! He had a great attitude with all of our guests, creating a fab atmosphere and we all certainly had fun! We also added late to our booking an audio guestbook, which was no trouble and brilliant to use! Listening back to the messages has been a real highlight. We booked Selfie Star Photobooths after seeing the photobooth in action at a wedding fayre. Booking with them was seamless and everything was so easy to access on the portal. On the day, set up was done with no issues whatsoever and our guests were free to enjoy the fun this brought to our evening. All of our guests commented on how fantastic the photobooth was and how well it was operated. It brought so much fun and energy to the evening and was loved by everyone. Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. So a massive thank you to both Sally & Wayne and if your looking for a top class DJ and photo booth look no further we highly recommend these guys they are the best.

we loved our photo booth for our wedding last month. Not only did we hire that from Selfie Star, we hired the DJ, venue uplighting and sparkler fountains. We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!
