Photo booth hire at Wynyard Hall adds a light-hearted touch to a wedding at one of the North East’s grandest country houses, and our team has worked at the hall before, so we know how its rooms flow from ceremony to dance floor. Wynyard Hall is near Billingham, County Durham, in private parkland in the Tees Valley. It’s a place built for big moments, and a photo booth gives guests a relaxed way to celebrate once the formal part of the day is over.
About Wynyard Hall
It’s a former country house and one-time home of the Londonderry family, with grand State Rooms and landscaped gardens. It sits within private parkland in the Tees Valley and has been owned by Sir John Hall for more than 30 years.
A little of its story:
- A 19th-century mansion. The house was built between 1822 and 1830 for the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry, designed by Benjamin Dean Wyatt and completed by Philip Wyatt.
- Rebuilt after a fire. In 1841, as the house neared completion, a fire gutted the building, and it was restored and remodelled by the architect Ignatius Bonomi.
- A restored walled garden. The estate’s original walled garden has been restored and is now a visitor attraction.
For weddings, Wynyard offers a series of rooms that flow naturally through the day:
- The chapel. The hall’s original chapel, with Italian marble and stained glass windows, is used for ceremonies.
- The State Rooms. Gilded ceilings and Florentine fireplaces make the State Rooms another striking ceremony setting.
- The terrace. In warmer months, outdoor civil ceremonies take place on the terrace, looking out over the lake and countryside.
- The Statue Gallery and Conservatory. Drinks are served in the Statue Gallery beneath its stained glass ceiling, and the wedding breakfast is held in the Conservatory.
- Exclusive use. Only your wedding party stays in the main hall, with bedrooms and suites plus hot-tub cottages in the grounds.

Vintage Booth. Couples who prefer a classic look choose the Vintage Booth, hand-crafted from solid oak with a choice of backdrops. Its warm wood and choice of backdrop sit well in grand interiors. From £625, with a £25 upgrade to the Glam Booth.
AI Photo Booth. For a modern twist, our staffed AI Photo Booth offers AI backgrounds, artistic styles, avatars and face swap, with instant prints.
Our self-service Party Pod is available at Wynyard Hall when booked with our DJ.

Planning tips for a photo booth at Wynyard Hall
- Ask the venue team about placement. With several rooms in use through the day, check with the hall’s team where the booth can go for the evening, ideally close to the bar or dance floor.
- Use the ancillary rooms. Wynyard has extra rooms that can be used as late bars or quiet spaces, which can work well for a booth away from the speakers.
- Plan your timings. Opening the booth after the wedding breakfast in the Conservatory gives guests something to enjoy while the room is turned around.
- Make it personal. A monogram or crest-style print design suits the hall’s grandeur.

We met Wayne & Sally at a wedding fayre. They were both really lovely and approachable, discussing all of their options & packages. Their communication was excellent & their app is easy to use for updates, info on your package and payments. Having used photobooths before, I can say the tech from Selfie Star was the best quality we’ve seen! We had the ICON! Wayne on the night of our wedding was brilliant, super friendly & arrived in plenty of time for the start of the evening celebrations! He had a great attitude with all of our guests, creating a fab atmosphere and we all certainly had fun! We also added late to our booking an audio guestbook, which was no trouble and brilliant to use! Listening back to the messages has been a real highlight. The turnaround on the online photo gallery & audio messages was amazingly quick too, coming back in just a few days after our wedding! Would highly recommend to anyone for any function! selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. The photobooth was such a hit with all our wedding guests too! We couldn’t have asked for better entertainment for our special day and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or event.

We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. So a massive thank you to both Sally & Wayne and if your looking for a top class DJ and photo booth look no further we highly recommend these guys they are the best.
We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!
What a cracking experience we had at a wedding yesterday with Selfie Star! Overall a friendly, humorous but professional service!
