Photo booth hire at The Adelphi brings a modern celebration into one of the finest Victorian pub interiors in Leeds. Our Selfie Star team has worked a wedding at this landmark on Hunslet Road, and the combination of tiled walls, etched glass and a grand staircase makes it a venue where the setting does half the work for your photos.
Pub weddings have become a popular choice for couples who want a relaxed, sociable day without losing any sense of occasion. A booth slots straight into that mood: guests grab a drink, gather friends and head over for a few frames, and you go home with a stack of prints that captures the party exactly as it felt.
The Adelphi: a Grade II listed Victorian drinking palace
The Adelphi stands at 3–5 Hunslet Road, on the southern edge of Leeds city centre where Briggate crosses the River Aire. It is a Grade II listed building dating from the late Victorian period, and it appears on CAMRA’s National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. CAMRA describes it as a late-Victorian “drinking palace”, a type of pub that was rarely built in Yorkshire.
Inside, four rooms open off a central lobby with tiled walls, a terrazzo floor and an ornate open staircase. The listing records original tiling, mahogany and etched glass doors, the original bar back and overmantels. Upstairs there is a sizeable function room that was once a ballroom.
For private hire, venue listings describe three main spaces: the Taproom, with high ceilings, large bay windows and deep-red walls; the Snug, a compact, wood-panelled room for smaller groups; and Upstairs, the function room, with exposed brick, booths, a fireplace and memorabilia from the local music scene. The venue hosts weddings, Christmas parties, birthdays, engagement parties and corporate events.

Party Pod for an all-day celebration. The Adelphi is in central Leeds, so our self-service Party Pod is available. It prints in colour or black and white, offers a choice of backdrops, is dropped off during the day and runs all day. From £425. Prefer digital? Planning tips for a photo booth at The Adelphi
Every pub venue works a little differently, so a few early conversations help.
- Know which room is yours. Whether you have the Taproom, the Snug or Upstairs, ask the events manager where the booth can stand and where the nearest socket is.
- Ask about the stairs and loading. In a historic building, it helps to know the best route in for equipment. We arrive an hour early so there is no rush.
- Remember it may be open to the public. If the downstairs bar is trading during your event, keep the booth in your private space so it stays for your guests.
- Time it with the food. If you are having a buffet in the evening, opening the booth just before it is served keeps the room busy while people wait.
- Choose a print design that suits the building. Victorian typography and deep colours work beautifully here; tell us what you like.

Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. We met Wayne & Sally at a wedding fayre. They were both really lovely and approachable, discussing all of their options & packages. Their communication was excellent & their app is easy to use for updates, info on your package and payments. Having used photobooths before, I can say the tech from Selfie Star was the best quality we’ve seen! We had the ICON! Wayne on the night of our wedding was brilliant, super friendly & arrived in plenty of time for the start of the evening celebrations! He had a great attitude with all of our guests, creating a fab atmosphere and we all certainly had fun! We also added late to our booking an audio guestbook, which was no trouble and brilliant to use! Listening back to the messages has been a real highlight. We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!

selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! We booked Selfie Star Photobooths after seeing the photobooth in action at a wedding fayre. Booking with them was seamless and everything was so easy to access on the portal. On the day, set up was done with no issues whatsoever and our guests were free to enjoy the fun this brought to our evening. All of our guests commented on how fantastic the photobooth was and how well it was operated. It brought so much fun and energy to the evening and was loved by everyone. The photos were absolutely fantastic, we loved going through the prints and the digital copies of the photos! Absolutely incredible, thank you so much we are forever grateful.
We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. So a massive thank you to both Sally & Wayne and if your looking for a top class DJ and photo booth look no further we highly recommend these guys they are the best.
