Photo booth hire at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds adds a lively, interactive element to an evening in one of the city’s most dramatic event settings. About the Royal Armouries Museum
The Royal Armouries Museum opened to the public on 30 March 1996 on the waterfront at what was then Clarence Dock and is now Leeds Dock, on Armouries Drive. It was built to display the national collection of arms and armour, in a purpose-built building designed by architect Derek Walker. Five themed galleries (War, Tournament, Hunting, Oriental and Self Defence) hold around 6,000 objects on permanent display.
The museum’s centrepiece is the Hall of Steel, a great staircase hall whose walls are lined with trophy displays of around 2,500 objects, inspired by the displays at the Tower Armouries in the 1600s. Outside, a tiltyard is used for jousting and mounted demonstrations. As an event venue, the museum offers a range of suites and halls, including the Royal Armouries Hall, the Pearl Suite, the Barton Suite, the Bury Theatre and New Dock Hall, as well as gallery spaces, and it hosts conferences, private dining, Christmas parties and weddings.

Planning a Photo Booth at the Royal Armouries
- Ask your event coordinator which space your event is in and where the booth can be set up.
- Confirm access timings, as we arrive an hour before the booth opens.
- Send your logo or theme early so we can prepare a branded print design.
- Time the booth to start after dinner or speeches so it carries the energy into the party.
- Book early for December. A booking fee secures your date, with the balance due 14 days before.

We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!
Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. The photobooth was such a hit with all our wedding guests too! We couldn’t have asked for better entertainment for our special day and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or event.

Their communication was excellent & their app is easy to use for updates, info on your package and payments. We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories!
