Sefton Park Palm House stands in Sefton Park, south Liverpool, surrounded by one of the city’s best-loved parks. About Sefton Park Palm House
It’s a Victorian glasshouse built by Mackenzie and Moncur and opened in 1896, a gift to the city from Henry Yates Thompson. It was damaged in the Blitz and reopened in 2001 after full restoration. A few more facts that make it special:
- A listed landmark. The Palm House is Grade II* listed. It’s octagonal in plan, with an iron frame on a granite base and three domed roofs rising one above another.
- Eight famous figures. Statues by the sculptor Léon-Joseph Chavalliaud stand around the building, depicting gardeners, explorers and scientists including Darwin, Captain Cook and Columbus. They make a brilliant backdrop for photos before the party starts.
- A living collection. The glasshouse is home to the Liverpool Botanical Collection, so your wedding takes place among exotic plants and palms.
- Licensed for ceremonies. The Palm House is licensed for civil ceremonies, civil partnerships and vow renewals, so the whole celebration can happen under one glass roof.
- Accessible and flexible. The building is fully accessible, and its events team can help with lighting and decoration.
As well as weddings, the Palm House hosts private parties and corporate events, and our booths work just as well for those, with branded print designs for business events.

Vintage Booth. Our Vintage Booth, hand-crafted from solid oak with a choice of backdrops, sits naturally in a setting like Sefton Park Palm House. Its natural wood blends with the plants and ironwork, and a botanical backdrop can tie it all together. From £625.
Glam Booth. For striking black and white portraits, couples choose our Glam Booth. Its beauty lighting is a big help once the sun goes down and the glasshouse is lit for the evening, and this Kardashian-style photo booth gives every guest a flattering, studio-quality portrait. From £650, or a £25 upgrade for Vintage Booth couples.
AI Photo Booth. Our staffed AI Photo Booth lets guests step into AI backgrounds and artistic styles, or try face swap, with instant prints. Great for parties and corporate events.
Our self-service Party Pod is available at the Palm House when booked with our DJ.

Planning tips for a Palm House photo booth
- Check timings with the events team. The Palm House is usually hired from the afternoon until midnight, so plan your booth hours to fit the evening.
- Agree the booth position. Ask the events team where the booth can sit among the plants and tables, ideally close to the bar or dance floor.
- Make the most of daylight. Grab couple photos with the statues and park before sunset, then open the booth for the evening.
- Go botanical with your print. Palm leaves or greenery on your print design suit the venue perfectly.

We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!

selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. The photobooth was such a hit with all our wedding guests too! We met Wayne & Sally at a wedding fayre. They were both really lovely and approachable, discussing all of their options & packages. Their communication was excellent & their app is easy to use for updates, info on your package and payments. Having used photobooths before, I can say the tech from Selfie Star was the best quality we’ve seen! We had the ICON! Wayne on the night of our wedding was brilliant, super friendly & arrived in plenty of time for the start of the evening celebrations! He had a great attitude with all of our guests, creating a fab atmosphere and we all certainly had fun! We also added late to our booking an audio guestbook, which was no trouble and brilliant to use! Listening back to the messages has been a real highlight. The turnaround on the online photo gallery & audio messages was amazingly quick too, coming back in just a few days after our wedding! Would highly recommend to anyone for any function! we loved our photo booth for our wedding last month. Not only did we hire that from Selfie Star, we hired the DJ, venue uplighting and sparkler fountains. Wayne and Sally was very accommodating for our need after we had to change a few things and move our timeline forward which wasn't too much hassel for them. would 100000% recommend to anyone looking for entertainment for their special event. we also want to wish Wayne and Sally all the best in their business . We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle.
