Planning photo booth hire at Oaklands means bringing something fun to a woodland, lakeside wedding in the East Yorkshire countryside. Our team has worked at Oaklands, at Hempholme between Driffield and Brandesburton, East Yorkshire, so it’s a venue we already know. It’s a venue built for a party, and a staffed photo booth is the perfect partner: guests drift over from the bar and dance floor all evening, and you go home with a box full of prints and an online gallery of every shot.
About Oaklands
Oaklands is a purpose-built lodge venue, The Grand Lodge, made with locally sourced materials to sit within woodland beside a lake, with guest lodges on site and a bridge that is a favourite spot for photographs. It was designed with sustainability in mind too, using locally grown timber and a ground-source heat pump.
Inside the Grand Lodge, the reception space has a large bar, a dance floor and a mezzanine floor, along with a projector, screen and sound system, so it’s set up for speeches, slideshows and a packed dance floor. For ceremonies, couples can marry outdoors in the Pavilion, looking out over the lake, or indoors in the Lakeside Lodge, a separate ceremony room with plenty of character. There’s also a getting-ready lodge for the couple and wedding party on the morning.
The venue offers exclusive hire for the day. Catering is couple’s choice: there’s a list of suggested suppliers, but you can bring in your own caterer, who’ll have use of a catering kitchen. The bar is run in-house, with drinks packages or a bespoke option. With lodges set in the woodland, many guests stay over, so the celebrations don’t have to end when the music does.

Our Vintage Booth, hand-crafted from solid oak with a choice of backdrops, sits naturally in a setting like Oaklands. Its warm wood matches the lodge’s timber interior, and the open design means whole groups can pile in. Vintage photo booth hire starts from £625.
For striking black and white portraits, couples choose our Glam Booth. Our Kardashian-style photo booth uses a white backdrop and flattering beauty lighting, giving a clean, editorial contrast to the rustic setting. It starts from £650, and Vintage Booth or DJ & Photo Booth package clients can upgrade for £25.
Fancy something more unusual? The AI Photo Booth lets guests try AI backgrounds, artistic styles, avatars and face swap, with instant prints.
Our self-service Party Pod is available at Oaklands when booked with our DJ, and it runs all day, from the ceremony to the last dance.

East Yorkshire wedding DJ and photo booth
With a projector, sound system and dance floor in the Grand Lodge, Oaklands is made for a great DJ. Our sister company EventsDJ supplies wedding DJs across Yorkshire, and booking both together as our Wedding DJ & Photo Booth package saves you money. It also opens up our Party Pod at Oaklands. The Evening DJ package runs for 5 hours, and cold spark fountains or a sax player can be added.

Planning tips for a photo booth at Oaklands
- Talk to the venue about placement. The Oaklands team will know where a booth fits best in the Grand Lodge. Near the bar or dance floor keeps it busy all night.
- Use the bridge and lake in daylight. Your photographer will want the lakeside and bridge while the light is good; open the booth as evening guests arrive.
- Coordinate with your caterer. As you’ll be choosing your own caterer, share your timings so food, speeches and the booth all fit together.
- Plan for a late finish. With guests staying in the lodges, you might want extra booth time.
- Share your styling. Send us your colours and stationery, and we’ll design a print to match.

How far ahead should we book?
Most couples book 12 to 24 months ahead, so check your date as soon as you can. A booking fee secures your date, with the balance due 14 days before.
Can the booth run longer than 3 hours?
Yes. Extra time is £150 per hour, so the booth can run as long as your party does.

Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!

We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. So a massive thank you to both Sally & Wayne and if your looking for a top class DJ and photo booth look no further we highly recommend these guys they are the best.

We met Wayne & Sally at a wedding fayre. They were both really lovely and approachable, discussing all of their options & packages. Their communication was excellent & their app is easy to use for updates, info on your package and payments. Having used photobooths before, I can say the tech from Selfie Star was the best quality we’ve seen! We had the ICON! Wayne on the night of our wedding was brilliant, super friendly & arrived in plenty of time for the start of the evening celebrations! He had a great attitude with all of our guests, creating a fab atmosphere and we all certainly had fun! We also added late to our booking an audio guestbook, which was no trouble and brilliant to use! Listening back to the messages has been a real highlight. The turnaround on the online photo gallery & audio messages was amazingly quick too, coming back in just a few days after our wedding! Would highly recommend to anyone for any function! We booked Selfie Star Photobooths after seeing the photobooth in action at a wedding fayre. Booking with them was seamless and everything was so easy to access on the portal.
