- Sneaton Castle, Whitby is a Grade II listed castellated house with battlemented towers and a Norman-style chapel, on the edge of the town. The chapel ceremony and the castle backdrop give the day a strong sense of occasion.
- Grand Villa Heights, Ravenscar is the clifftop house built in 1774 (once Raven Hall) looking out over Robin Hood’s Bay. It sits roughly halfway between Scarborough and Whitby, with the moors on one side and the sea on the other.
- Asquith Hall, Scarborough is a Grade II listed country house in 17 acres, with a lake and a wedding barn, so you get both country house elegance and a relaxed barn party in one place.
- Hackness Grange, Hackness is a Georgian manor hotel just inland from Scarborough, best known for its wedding pavilion on a lakeside island, reached by a bridge.
- Egton Manor, Egton Bridge is a Grade II listed 1893 shooting lodge in the Esk Valley, with riverside gardens and follies that suit couples wanting a quieter, greener setting.
- Danby Castle, Danby is a 14th-century castle, once home to Catherine Parr, overlooking the Esk Valley. It is about as atmospheric as moorland weddings get.
- Dale Farm Weddings, Hunmanby sits on the Wolds near Filey, with coastal views, a courtyard barn and treehouse stays for guests.
- Birdsall House, near Malton is further inland, but worth knowing about if you are weighing up coast against countryside: a family home with Capability Brown parkland and its own speakeasy bar.

Castles and historic houses. Stone walls, towers and panelled rooms are a gift for our Glam Booth, the Kardashian-style photo booth Scarborough and Whitby couples pick when they want striking black and white portraits. Planning tips for a coast or moors wedding
Popular coastal venues fill early for summer Saturdays, and most of our couples book us 12 to 24 months ahead. A booking fee secures your date, with the balance due 14 days before the wedding.
Many venues here have more than one space, such as a chapel and a barn, or a house and a pavilion. Let us know where the evening party will be so we can plan the booth position with your venue coordinator. If you have guests staying on site, think about keeping the booth open into the later part of the evening, when people who have been at the bar for a while are at their most willing to pose.

We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!

Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. The photobooth was such a hit with all our wedding guests too! selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! we loved our photo booth for our wedding last month. Not only did we hire that from Selfie Star, we hired the DJ, venue uplighting and sparkler fountains. Wayne and Sally was very accommodating for our need after we had to change a few things and move our timeline forward which wasn't too much hassel for them. would 100000% recommend to anyone looking for entertainment for their special event. we also want to wish Wayne and Sally all the best in their business .
