About the Red Lion at Burnsall
The Red Lion is a traditional 16th-century country inn in Burnsall, a village in the Yorkshire Dales National Park north of Skipton. It stands right by the River Wharfe and Burnsall Bridge, and it began life as a ferryman’s inn. Inside you will find beamed ceilings, log fires and an oak-panelled central bar, and the building is larger inside than it looks from the road.
- Setting: on the banks of the Wharfe beside the village bridge, with the Dales Way footpath passing by.
- Spaces: a function room, a restaurant and a separate bar, plus a riverside terrace.
- Staying over: bedrooms in the inn itself and at the nearby Manor House, with self-catering cottages for longer stays.
- Today: the inn is part of the Daniel Thwaites estate, the family brewer that also runs other Dales inns.
With guests able to stay on site or close by, weddings here often carry on well into the evening, which is good news for a photo booth.

Many couples marrying in the Dales want a single, reliable team for the evening. Planning tips for photo booth hire in Wharfedale
- Agree where the booth goes. Historic inns have character, and character sometimes means low beams or uneven floors. Ask the inn’s events team which spot they recommend, ideally close to where the dancing will happen.
- Schedule around the evening. Opening the booth when evening guests arrive gives newcomers something to do while the room fills.
- Keep the terrace in mind. If your guests spill out by the river on a summer evening, a booth near the doorway keeps it part of the action.
- Personalise the prints. A design that mentions Burnsall or the Wharfe makes the prints a keepsake of the place as well as the day.

Yes. Our open booths are flexible, and we will check the space we need with you when you book so you can confirm it with the venue.
What happens to the photos after the wedding?
Guests take their prints home on the night, you receive a gift box with a full set, and everything is available in an online gallery.
Can we change booths after booking?
If you have the Vintage Booth and decide you want the Glam Booth instead, you can upgrade for £25. Just let us know.
When is the balance due?
The balance is due 14 days before your wedding. A booking fee secures the date when you book.

We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!

We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. We booked Selfie Star Photobooths after seeing the photobooth in action at a wedding fayre. Booking with them was seamless and everything was so easy to access on the portal. On the day, set up was done with no issues whatsoever and our guests were free to enjoy the fun this brought to our evening. Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! we loved our photo booth for our wedding last month. Not only did we hire that from Selfie Star, we hired the DJ, venue uplighting and sparkler fountains. Wayne and Sally was very accommodating for our need after we had to change a few things and move our timeline forward which wasn't too much hassel for them. would 100000% recommend to anyone looking for entertainment for their special event. we also want to wish Wayne and Sally all the best in their business .
