About Holdsworth House
Holdsworth House sits on Holdsworth Road, on the northern edge of Halifax. It’s a Grade II* listed Jacobean manor house completed in 1633 by Abraham Brigg, and many of its period features survive, including oak-panelled rooms and an original staircase in the Hall. The house has links with Anne Lister and the Brontë family, and The Beatles stayed here in 1964, when it was the Cavalier Country Club.
Weddings make use of several distinct spaces. The Stuart Room, a former 17th-century barn, is the largest room and opens onto the Colonnade Courtyard at the heart of the house. Outside, the gardens include a wooden gazebo set between two weeping ash trees thought to be around 200 years old, alongside a sunken parterre garden, and the Grade II* listed stone gazebo dates from 1633, the same year as the house. There are 32 bedrooms, so many guests can stay over and carry the celebrations on into breakfast the next morning.

The Vintage Booth. Our Vintage Booth is hand-crafted from solid oak, so it sits naturally among the panelled rooms and the old barn timbers of the Stuart Room. It’s an open booth, which means groups can pile in, and you can pick a backdrop to suit your colours. If you like the look of both, Vintage Booth clients can upgrade to the Glam Booth for £25.
The Glam Booth. For something more editorial, our Kardashian-style photo booth takes black and white portraits against a clean white backdrop with flattering beauty lighting. The result is timeless, and it looks striking framed next to photographs of a 17th-century manor.
The Party Pod. Our self-service Party Pod is also available here when booked alongside our DJ. It’s dropped off during the day and runs all day, with colour or black and white prints and a choice of backdrops, which suits couples who want something running from the drinks reception right through to the last dance. For a newer twist, our staffed AI Photo Booth adds AI backgrounds, artistic styles and face swap, with instant prints.

Planning tips for a photo booth at Holdsworth House
Ask where the booth will live. A historic house has lots of smaller rooms, so talk to your wedding coordinator early about where the booth should go. Ideally it’s close to the evening action in the Stuart Room, but not blocking a doorway or the route to the bar.
Time it with your evening. Most couples open the booth as evening guests arrive, so it’s busy while the room fills up and again after the first dance. If you have a long gap between the wedding breakfast and the evening reception, opening a little earlier can keep day guests entertained.
Think about your print design. A line drawing of the house, your initials and the date work well on the print strip and make a keepsake that guests actually take home.
Book early. Popular dates at Holdsworth House go quickly, and our booths do too, so check your date as soon as the venue is confirmed.

We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. On the day, set up was done with no issues whatsoever and our guests were free to enjoy the fun this brought to our evening. selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. So a massive thank you to both Sally & Wayne and if your looking for a top class DJ and photo booth look no further we highly recommend these guys they are the best.
Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. The photobooth was such a hit with all our wedding guests too! We couldn’t have asked for better entertainment for our special day and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or event.
