About Cave Castle, South Cave
Cave Castle stands on Church Hill in the village of South Cave, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, a short way west of Hull. It is a Grade II listed building in the Gothic Revival style, with crenellated parapets and polygonal corner turrets. According to its listing, the castle was built in 1804 by the architect Henry Hakewill for Henry Boldero Barnard, and it was extensively remodelled around 1872. Inside, original details include an ornate wrought-iron staircase balustrade and elaborate plaster ceilings.
Today it is a hotel and country club with a golf course alongside. The grounds include a lawn and a lake, and couples can hold their ceremony outdoors in front of the castle or in a ceremony room inside. Receptions take place in the hotel’s function suites, including the Balmoral and Sandringham, and couples can choose exclusive use of the venue. Each couple works with a wedding coordinator from planning through to the day itself.

Vintage Booth for warmth and character
Our hand-crafted solid oak Vintage Booth is an open booth with a choice of backdrops. Natural oak complements the castle’s traditional character, and the open design means bigger groups fit in easily. Staffed, from £625. If you choose the Vintage Booth or our DJ & Photo Booth package, you can upgrade to the Glam Booth for £25.
AI Photo Booth for something different
With AI backgrounds, artistic styles, AI avatars and face swap, our staffed AI Photo Booth lets guests put themselves anywhere they like, with instant prints to take home.
The self-service Party Pod is available at Cave Castle when booked with one of our EventsDJ wedding DJs.

Planning tips for a photo booth at Cave Castle
- Speak to your wedding coordinator about placement. They know the function suites well and can advise where the booth fits around your tables and dance floor.
- Time it with your evening. Most couples open the booth when evening guests arrive. If your evening guests arrive later, we can plan the start time accordingly.
- Use the grounds for your photographer, and the booth for your guests. Your photographer can make the most of the lawn and lake while the booth captures the fun inside.
- Personalise your prints. Add your names, date and colours so every print matches your theme.
- Book in good time. Couples usually book 12 to 24 months ahead, and a booking fee secures the date.

selfie star made our wedding!! run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Wayne and sal went above and beyond for us to make our special day run as smoothly as possible. They even took all the stress away before hand and communicated with the hotel about arranging the room and making sure everything we had hired from them would fit, they contacted the tribute band we had coming to the wedding and made their set up easier by connect up to selfie stars equipment which made our turn around from the day in to the evening party much quicker! The dancefloor, star light back drop and light up shoots completely transformed our room, it looked amazing!! we also had the dancing with clouds and cold spark fire work for our first dance which was also looked amazing! selfie star also hosted our full day and was our DJ Which I believe made the day run so well. They made us feel very special and organised all the special parts of the day to make sure they went as well as they possibly could and really made the special moments count! THe music was brilliant they played a mixture of songs we asked for and then a mixture of songs from 80s 90s and now which was great the dancefloor was full of people all night! highly recommended this company they are fantastic, we also had the table selfie centerpiece aswell which we and all our guests had lots of fun with and captured loads of memories! we loved our photo booth for our wedding last month. Not only did we hire that from Selfie Star, we hired the DJ, venue uplighting and sparkler fountains. We met Wayne & Sally at a wedding fayre. They were both really lovely and approachable, discussing all of their options & packages. Their communication was excellent & their app is easy to use for updates, info on your package and payments. Having used photobooths before, I can say the tech from Selfie Star was the best quality we’ve seen! We had the ICON! Wayne on the night of our wedding was brilliant, super friendly & arrived in plenty of time for the start of the evening celebrations! He had a great attitude with all of our guests, creating a fab atmosphere and we all certainly had fun! We also added late to our booking an audio guestbook, which was no trouble and brilliant to use! Listening back to the messages has been a real highlight. The turnaround on the online photo gallery & audio messages was amazingly quick too, coming back in just a few days after our wedding! Would highly recommend to anyone for any function! Absolutely amazing DJ and photobooth service for our wedding! Communication beforehand was excellent and they made everything so easy and stress-free from start to finish. They arrived punctually, were incredibly professional, and did everything we asked for with no problem at all. The DJ kept the dancefloor full all night and was also a fantastic MC, helping the whole evening run smoothly and keeping the atmosphere lively and fun. The photobooth was such a hit with all our wedding guests too! We couldn’t have asked for better entertainment for our special day and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or event.

We met Sally and Wayne at a wedding fair and hiring them was the best decision ever ( despite already having a DJ provided within our wedding package at Aldwark Manor) we knew it would be an extra cost but we were willing to do this as we wanted Wayne as our DJ , and he was worth every penny, he made our wedding exactly what we wanted he listened to our preferences and tailored the music to our taste. The guests absolutely loved him. He also helped organise the dance floor which I wanted and provided letters. Sally on the photobooth was equally amazing, guests had such a laugh and kept Sally busy. Definitely a must have at any party. The added bonus of us receiving a copy of every photo taken that night and placed in a box was simply brilliant myself and my husband were able to look through these at our leisure and have a good giggle. We booked Selfie Star Photobooths after seeing the photobooth in action at a wedding fayre. Booking with them was seamless and everything was so easy to access on the portal. On the day, set up was done with no issues whatsoever and our guests were free to enjoy the fun this brought to our evening. We booked Selfie Star Photo Booth for our wedding and honestly it was one of the best investments we made. We went for the Kardashian filter to match our monochrome wedding theme and it looked incredible — the photos came out so stylish and elevated. Our guests absolutely loved it and were using it all night. The fact guests could have unlimited prints was amazing, and every print strip was personalised with our Mr & Mrs name and wedding date, with 3 photos on each print which looked so professional. Sally also shared a download link afterwards with all of the images, which was such a lovely touch. One of our favourite parts was coming home with a beautiful gift box containing copies of all the prints for us to add into our guest book and keep forever. Sally was fantastic throughout and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t recommend Selfie Star enough!
